I don't know about the rest of the undercard fighters, but Gilberto Ramirez is supposed to be next up from Mexico as a star.

30-0 (24 KOs)....but he hasn't fought a "name" yet. Roberto Ortiz was the same (Mexican, 31-0 with 24 KOs), but he hadn't fought anyone either before he ran into Lucas Mattysse in September and lost

De La Hoya said Wednesday he's on board with the fight and will try to work out a deal.

If he does, it would pit two of boxing's hardest hitters and best brawlers in a mouth-watering match.

Matthysse is 34-3 with 30 knockouts and has been in a series of sensational fights. His bout with John Molina on Showtime last year was one of 2014's best bouts.

Provodnikov is 24-3 with 17 knockouts. His 2013 bout with Timothy Bradley was that year's Fight of the Year.

"When I tell you I want to make the best fights, this is the kind of fight I'm talking about," De La Hoya said. "This is what I am committed to do at Golden Boy. This is a 50-50 fight. Either guy could win. But it's a fight that could be the Fight of the Year times three."

Talks are ongoing for a junior welterweight bout between RING No. 1-rated Lucas Matthysse and No. 4 Ruslan Provodnikov for March or April, according to Provodnikov’s promoter, Artie Pelullo of Banner Promotions.

“I have talked to Golden Boy [Promotions] about Matthysse,” said Pelullo during a Monday interview with RingTV.com. “Both sides are interested in making the fight.”

A former WBO 140-pound titleholder nicknamed “The Siberian Rocky,” Provodnikov (24-3, 17 knockouts) is coming off a fifth-round knockout over former lightweight titleholder Jose Luis Castillo in November.

In his previous fight in June, Provodnikov, 30, lost his WBO junior welterweight title by split decision to Chris Algieri, this after having won the belt by 10th round stoppage over Mike Alvarado, whom he dropped twice last October.

Nicknamed “La Máquina” or “The Machine,” Matthysse (36-3, 34 KOs) has scored consecutive stoppages in the 11th and second rounds over John Molina in April and previously unbeaten Roberto Ortiz in September.

Actually, Im going-going, back-back, to Tampa-Bay!!!!


I tried to leave my lovable losers....but I cant Been a fan way too long, and jumping teams just aint my style.


I even tried to root for the hometown team (Browns) first, but it's not the same as rooting for my Sucs


This was a trial year, and I aint built for building love for new teams

Man, I really thought Alvarado should win this fight, but he had one of the worst media workout days ever.

I am so shoulder shrugs about this fight simply, because both guys appear to be essentially done.

Rios looks as though his weight is out of control and he is focused on the sport , but that "retirement word" is scary.

Meanwhile, Mike Alvarado has not seemed to look like a guy who believes he can win a round in a boxing match since round 4 versus Ruslan.
