congrats to magsayo but he played with his food all night. been shoulda pressuring that shoulder once he was hurt. but a lot of dudes need to take note of these long layoffs and not fighting the best available fights to stay sharp. jermall charlo, demetrius andrade, mikey garcia etc. keith thurman also. get back in that ring and stay busy, make your money and stop waiting on big payday fights. cause if they don't come along then you gonna get upset by a lower level hungrier cat and then get forced to back of the line anyway.
this was a long time coming for gary russell, hate to see it but long layoffs and not the best comp since he lost to loma led to this. homie stayed capping with contracts to fight big names. gary did the best he could with that one arm, makes you respect tank performance vs cruz more. he made sure he got the job done. but this was close coulda went either way or a draw. showtime commentary was biased and trying to sell the fight to magsayo. gary was making him miss a lot of shots. gary showed heart in spite of all though.

I believe him that he was hurt. I always loved his jab and how he works off of it, tonight he wasnt really throwing it how he usually does, even before the weird hook that seemed to hurt it even more.
