in fairness, he was speaking on the winning team.
yes, I know. thats my point

what the fukk did brad johnson do ? if your defense has given you THREE pick sixes, 5 picks total against the MVP... and holds the opposing rush offense to ELEVEN total yards...

you REALLY need to be a total and complete fukkup to lose the game as a qb.

:ohhh:

I get your point, yeah you are 100% right. Brad Johnson had nothing to do with that victory.

Its what I was saying earlier about 10 years ago, game managers were in vogue. It was easier to build a stacked team and find a competent QB who wont lose it for you versus finding the franchise QB. There was a legit argument for that for building a team that way. With the new rule changes favoring QBs and WRs, which has devalued the RB position, its made it possible for incomplete teams to win super bowls.

The Ravens did that shyt and everyone thought it was easy to create a defense that dominant and they didn't realize that D was an all timer. Wasn't no beating them that year.

it is easier. Its hard as hell to find an franchise QB, let alone an elite one.

The Patriots did it the next year with Brady, the Bucs did it in 2002 also.

You needed a strong running game, good defense, and a guy that wont lose you the game at QB. With the new rule changes, you can be an incomplete team and win a Super Bowl like Green Bay a few years ago, or the Giants last year.

As a Giants fan I know anyone in the playoffs is a legit contender in a 1 & done format. But I also think that if I could choose which "contender" my team would play in the playoffs, it would be the Falcons, because I just feel like they are the weakest of all the possible top seeded contenders.

Nahhhhhh. I remember that game. Mostly cause I hated how much they hyped Chucky vs the Raiders. The floodgates/super ass whooping didn't open up until the 2nd half. Brad Johnson was on it throughout the first half. That's why I said maybe. His team got a 2 or 3 TD lead in the first half and the defense got to be super aggressive and take chances.

It's hard to find a franchise QB, but you ain't winning with no Trent Dilfer's no more OR Big Ben's first Superbowl performance. It's harder to do it that way than it is to find a QB that can make plays.

the Raiders came in with the best offense in football and got shut down that first half. Completely annihilated.

Most of their points came when the game was not in doubt. If anything, Johnson and that offense was afforded the opportunity to take more risks because of how great that defense was playing.

yeah, I made that point in the post you quoted.

The rule changes have devalued great RBs, and even the need for a great defense. If you have an elite QB with really good receivers who can get YAC, you are a super bowl contender.

The Giants and Packers won super bowls back to back years with no running game. The Saints won it with a bad but opportunistic defense.

man...I was watching that game with my lil cuz while doing some school shyt, hes a raiders fan...both of us rooting for the raiders

I do not, I repeat I do not ever, before or after, remember rooting for two teams in the same playoffs who had ZERO chance of winning the game against one team.

niners and raiders had no chance against TB from the onset. that shyt was a tunnel with no light at the end. me and cuz knew it too..there was no hope.

garcia and gannon combined for 8 picks :why:

that Bucs defense is slept on as an ATG defense.

That defense had more HOFers on it than the Ravens defense did. And they dominated for so long :ohlawd:

I remember being so excited when the Skins went up 13-0 on them in the '99 'offs. Then Brad Johnson (:upsetfavre:) gave the game right back to them. :why:

Do you realize Falcons actually have a D that can create turnovers. Something they didn't have the last couple of years?
you know with few exceptions creating turnovers is random and carries no path
these falcons would get ate alive by the burrs

You say turnovers are random and carry no path, yet say we would get eaten alive by the Bears, a team that has won numerous games this year strictly because of the turnovers their D has caused.

I think ATL makes it to the NFC Championship this year. After that it's probably gonna come down to Matt Ryan taking that next step.
