If you think Alex's performance in that Giants game is why folk think he can't win a SB, you're gravely mistaken.

Alex can't win a SB because he's severely limited.

QB's are important no matter how hard you try to downplay their value.

the point is...qbs dont win games as much as you try to inflate their value

and alex wouldnt win a sb...the niners would.
plus that game is cited as a prime example of why hes limited, unfairly so.
and yes-hes limited, you know I agree with that

point is any good team can win with a good team effort and a qb whos just aight.

:what: Alex's limitations have been on display for 7+ years of football. C'mon now.

I agree that you can win with an aight QB. But you can win maybe a game. You're not going to win 3 games in the playoffs and a SB with a mediocre QB. You using this one game and discounting others that were won on the arm of other Qb's is :troll:-like

Im using this game because of the striking similarities in stats, to point out hypocrisy

alex had a very good game against the saints after which everyone jacked off to his pic and then had that weak game, for which he got blamed unfairly.

eli and ben leaned heavily on their Ds in some of their runs (ben 9 for 21 and two picks in the SB and a win ? :scusthov:) and were superbowl winners before they actually became elite qbs. lots of those games werent won on *their* arms

people talk about eli in 2007 but without that D, eli would be collecting garbage time stats by halftime

qbs dont win games by themselves. I mean, they do sometimes, but its pretty damn rare and those who do are likely going into HoF first ballot

revise was the wrong word :snoop:

I really meant revive. :snoop:

Not really though.

Since 2000 I'd say only 4 teams won without direct correlation to how well their QB played.

Indy against the Bears
Steelers against Seattle
Obviously the Ravens
Maybe Tampa Bay against the Raiders

If I'm going before that we can probably go back to the 85 bears in which the QB didn't ball out in order for the team to win. It happens, but you need the person that's touching the ball on every single play to be above average if not dominant most of the time to win the championship

Edit: That should be 5. Eli's first superbowl happened cause the Giants D line was whooping the Pats ass.

you missed my point

I wasnt agreeing with him, I said IF The Falcons carry Ryan to a Super Bowl, then he can revive his point.

more on your post tho, its funny how 10 years ago it was in style to say you dont need an elite QB to win the SB. Its done a 180 since that point.

I always hated those game manager type QB's anyway. That's the sign of an unimaginative coach to me. I understand going conservative if you need to, but you hamstring your damn team if you're down by 2 possessions.

The Ravens did that shyt and everyone thought it was easy to create a defense that dominant and they didn't realize that D was an all timer. Wasn't no beating them that year.
