This show sucked tonight and really showed a lot of the issues I hope AEW course corrects. Before I go in on those issues I just want to say that Iḿ an AEW fan and want them to succeed but here are some glaring issues with how they go about things that they need to work on.

1. The AEW title storyline. They have made the main event AEW title picture seem like its just another segment of the show and don´t do enough to make it stand out. Yes, part of it is Kenny Omega being absolutely cringe on the mic but a lot of it is also how little time they put into the AEW title storyline within the course of a show. I say this because even when Moxley had the belt I felt this way. Yes, they booked moxley strong and had him win and defend the title for a year but they could have done so much more with him to make him seem like a star. Because of his badass brawler character they could´ve used him in more frequent segments doing crazy violent shyt making him into like stone cold. Instead they would have him maybe for two segments on the nights where he was on, one of which would be the actual match he would be in and then maybe a promo right before the match. I´m not saying I want this to be like WWE where the champion begins or ends the show every week. I like the fact that they start their show with a match and that they can main event some random up and comers every now and then. I also understand they have other people they want to promote and give time to. But you can´t tell me in between that time they can´t sandwich a 3 or 4 brief 30 second segments a night with the main champion just so that storyline and the champion is in our consciousness more. There is nothing that makes the main title storyline stand out from anything else happening on the show. I understand maybe you want make it more about the brand then one champion but you put the belt on someone to carry your company. If you want to put the belt on Kenny have him and The Elite be more involved in the show and give people an understanding that these are the guys at main attractions at the moment. Again, I think Kenny is cringe but they chose to rock with him. Have Don Callis continue to build him up since Don is a good promo anyway.

2. Terrible job of introducing and promoting things to a non-diehard audience: There is absolutely no reason why AEW shouldn´t be promoting Dark and Elevation more. They have acts like the varsity blondes who became the number one ranked tag team wrestle tonight who many fans may have never seen on Dynamite and don´t show any montage of what they done and how they got to that spot. Thereś never any reference by the broadcasters of anything that has happened on Dark. No promotion of when it airs on youtube. You just have to find it yourself. It sucks because Dark and Elevation are actually good shows and they have some pretty good matches and storylines. Both shows feel like WWF Superstars in that way. And this goes to a larger issue with AEW in that they do a horrible job of introducing things and assuming people watching their show will know. Thereś things that happen on the show that you might only know if you watch Being the Elite. I don´t watch Being the Elite so I found out a lot of things that took place on the show that I was confused about or didn´t hit as hard were things that were on Being the Elite. But do they show any footage from Being the Elite that would help to introduce their fans to this? No. They have these storylines involving the nightmare factory but you can´t get emotionally invested because you don´t know shyt about these people. Keith Lee comes out tonight to approach Malachi Black who the fukk knows who he is or why he´s there. I think Tony Khan suffers from being to much of a geek that he just assumes everyone knows about these things. Why he fukked up hyping up Christian like he did. Ending a show with Jamie Hayter, a chick who as a nobody and no one had seen in months but yet she comes out at the end of the show like weŕe supposed to care.

These are two core things I feel the company needs to seriously work on. I also think that a lot of these stables need to go but I think these are much more subjective than the two things I listed. Matt Hardy´s team is dull except for Private Party and he needs more time being a manager scheming his talent for money and spend less time wrestling. The Dark Order sucks. People didn´t like the original iteration when Evil Uno was the one running it and they would pose making that human throne but I thought that was the most interesting iteration. Then when Brody Lee was the leader and he was recruiting people like some cult leader I thought it was pretty interesting. Then when it devolved into corny comedy act I though it had its place when they were building up Hangman. Now I´m just tired of seeing them. Best Friends are another team I could do without. Orange Cassidy is cool as a gimmicky wrestler on the mid card. But Chuck Taylor don´t even look like a wrestler, Chris Statlander is someone I could care less about and I´m not hyped about her match with Brit Baker. Again this is just subjective but Iḿ getting to the point where I feel they need to really understand who their power players are. Hell, there´s people on Dark and Elevation that should be getting more play then a lot of these Dynamite regulars.

:gucci: Show was ass tonight

this is Punk’s first dynamite, they should be stacking the card to make sure people tune in week after week even if Punk isn’t there

They should’ve brought out Giannis during the main show too :hubie:

best part of the show was somehow Lambert’s promo :dwillhuh:

Malakai Black presentation is great tho :ehh:

you make a lot of valid points. AEW assumes that you either watch every show, read the results of every show, or don’t question anything. It’s very tailored to the smart fan, but they need to find a balance to get the casual fans. At the very least show a quick recap of the matches on Dark and Elevation. I didn’t even know Brock Anderson wrestled five times before tonight lol. I will say I saw Elevation for the first time yesterday and I was surprisingly entertained by it. I don’t plan on watching every week but it’s a nice time killer

:mjlol: You got room on your show for a fat, grey haired cac cosplaying as Roadkill and Dolph Ziggler's brother (who is just a worse version of Dolph, who already sucks to begin with) but no room for Giannis. This show was a miss for me. Keep that AEW Dark shyt on Youtube. Nobody wants to see that on TV
