That promo would've only made sense if they actually showed us who the mystery person was.

AEW has been having bad news all month and having Danielson come out and hype up 2 matches he's not gonna be involved in (but don't worry, he's "fine" and will be back...whatever that means) doesn't add much of anything to the PPV nor Blood & Guts. I think this kind of tease hurts both shows instead of helping them.

They should've just have Regal come out and basically do the same thing...and actually present the replacement wrestler.

But I feel like (and this isn’t defending them…. Just defending the angle no matter what promotion) this is a tactic I’ve seen one way or another in every company from WCW, TNA, ROH, WWE (similar with the Cody debut) and I’m sure NJPW did it too.

The whole “tune in this Sunday at the PPV to see the mystery opponent” gimmick and way majority of the time it’s dope

I think it's either Gresham, Claudio or Timothy Thatcher. Only reason I'm not 100% on it being Claudio is because he should've been announced tonight if he was booked for both matches as he's a bigger name than the other two and should warrant more hype for both shows.
