What y’all don’t understand is this was a unique situation. We all know this wasn’t planned, I’m sure the original plan was for them to highlight wardlow and his win and I guess he has the right to be a little upset all this happened on the night of his payoff.
But he will be fine, he will still be over and they can continue his push next week. They saw an opportunity to capitalize on all of this and it worked. This is a business at the end of the day. But I’m seeing that opinions like yours are the minority so it looks like they made the right decision
Wardlow is in a story with Smart Mark Sterling. That means a match with Tony Nese and guys on that level are coming up. That’s what’s next. JD Drake is the lowest heel on AEW roster. This is Vince Russo in the pope mobile telling Goldberg to do the streak all over again.
With MJF, we’ve seen this promo before on many occasions. HHH cut that promo on Sunday night heat one week. Undertaker did in 98, Joe did on a TNA B show, Bobby Roode cut the promo to Hogan face, among many mostly failed incarnations. I get it was a business decision to do the promo and they want buzz and ratings, but to what end? The last half of the promo was pandering face online wrestling fan dikkriding bullshyt. MJF is really the nerd he calls us, and that’s fine but it dilutes his gimmick. The only way they can get out of the promo anything positive would be to do MJF Punk at all out, but are they ready for all of their WWE signings (with more to come) to be hated? No they aren’t thus they fukked up.

I like Scorpio Sky so sue me. Dante Martin couldn't cut a decent promo to save his life, but he is very entertaining in the ring.

Let's keep perspective here: Cena was a heel to more than half of the audience for years prior to the pipe bomb promo. Punk just said out loud what most where thinking.
Is the purpose to turn MJF face and feud with ex-WWE guys? I don't think they want guys like Keith Lee, Swerve, Mox and Danielson to be heels.

If Tony Khan isn't going to become an onscreen character, then I don't see a payoff for MJF or this angle.
The AEW crowd is pretty anti-WWE, so if this becomes MJF vs ex WWE guys there is a more than great chance the WWE guys get inadvertently turned heel.
