Not giving him the rumble also kneecaps him. The buildup for his match with Roman was absolutely perfect last year. Everything they did leading into the match was done just right, and the match itself was a genuinely great match until the ending sequence. He’s spent the last year sitting in purgatory though clearly just stalling until wrestlemania because they don’t want Roman to drop the belt at any other event so now he shows up less and less since they know the crowd is getting bored with his matches and feuds. To have anyone else get the main event they’ve clearly been hanging over our heads, let alone the rock sends the worst type of message to everyone that they haven’t learned a thing from the 2011-16 period.

They wanted it until they got it now they are over criticizing how they got there. It’s never good enough for the internet.

This! It was always about ending up here and we don’t know how much longer the rock can wait to have this match. It’s unfortunate for Cody but this needs to happen before it can’t happen. Cody is so over they can just do it at summerslam or even better yet have him prevent Roman from breaking hogans record. I would have him beat Roman on the show right before he breaks the record, that’s just as big a moment as headlining mania.

37: Edge (47 year old part timer) & Brian Danielson (40 years old & about to leave the company
38: Brock Lesnar (45 year old part timer & a match that nobody wanted to see ever again after 2015-18)
39: Cody Rhodes (full timer & super over babyface)
40: Rock (51 years old & hasn’t wrestled in 11 years. Suffered a major injury in 2 of his last 4 matches)


They’re not even letting full time guys work with Roman at the big stage. What’s the upside of the main event of the biggest show of the year being part timer vs part timer? The last time the main event of wrestlemania was decided by all full time wrestlers was 2011. Every year there’s at least one part timer if not more. Here’s every year since:


2012: Rock vs Cena
2013: Rock vs Cena
2014: Brian vs Randy vs Batista
2015: Brock vs Roman
2016: Roman vs triple h
2017: Roman vs taker
2018: Roman vs Brock
2019: Ronda vs Charlotte vs Becky
2020: Drew vs Brock
2021: Roman vs Edge vs Brian
2022: Roman vs Brock
2023: Roman vs Cody

The part timer argument is weak and only the die hard fans care about that shyt and y’all are going to watch anyway. It’s not about the best wrestler in the company it’s about the biggest match and no matter how over Cody is he ain’t the rock.

Biggest match meaning what?? WM is already damn near sold out off the strength of the full-time current roster. This the best they've done at making stars since the Attitude era and the reality is, they really don't need these old heads coming back anymore. Its sum like 56k tix sold for night 2 and i guarantee you a majority of those people thought they were gonna see CAWdy finally beat Roman.
