I didn't think that needed to be 40 minutes at all. A very good match that got stretched for no good reason and that could've been fukking great if it was 25 minutes instead. MJF did his thing and continues to prove he's a worthy wrestler but this was Punk's show, dude made the match compelling with his selling and desperation. In a weird sense I felt this was kind of "wasted" performance, if Punk has this exact same match in Chicago but it's for the AEW belt, the crowd would've been molten hot and the atmosphere would've elevated it to an instant classic.

Still, Punk continues to show that when he gives a shyt and the it's big time match, he delivers.
This better than the last Danielson/Page match to me :yeshrug:

I thought the match felt every bit the 40 minutes it lasted and the crowd got quieter as it went along. Danielson/Page (the hour draw) didn't feel like 60 minutes at all and had the crowd going crazy for a non finish.

We saw the Alabama luchador walk down last week, and Wardlow this week. Why does Tony Khan always over-season these matches?

To be fair, they are running a storyline where Wardlow is slowly turning on MJF and the Pinnacle, a storyline that CM Punk plays a big part in. You saw how little Wardlow actually wanted to help MJF.

I do wonder what they do with these two at Revolution, though. Because I think that, while you should build MJF up to a title shot after a match like this, Revolution is probably too early to do it.

For the record, this is by far the most interesting set of storylines in the company right now (Punk/Wardlow/MJF, that is).

Can't think of a dumber wrestling name, Wardlow or Madcap

Edit: actually it's his last name, LOL. I'll let it slide
