Just like most anime characters, the article I posted explains this. Asian artist draw Europeans differently than they draw actual Asian characters.

Yeah. Those anime ppl ARE drawn Asian. It is soooo odd to me.

Asians in Asia who interact with 99.999999% Asians all their lives think of Asian eyes as normal. They perceive white and black and latino faces as being bug-eyed or pop-eyed. Asian adults are too polite to say so, but Asian babies who see non-Asian faces will point and ask aloud "Why are his/her eyes so WIDE OPEN?" (Kinda like when a little black baby learns the names for colors, meets a white person, and asks about why they are pink/not-brown.")

Asians are also good at reading Asian eye expressions. They can see anger, amusement, curiosity, etc where I only see squinting.

Asians are good at distinguishing Asian subtypes at a glance. They can tell a Chinese person from a Korean person from a Japanese person from etc without exchanging words.

They're all drawn with brown skin and afros so it's pretty hard to assume anything else when drawing black characters.

I always thought of anime people as, well, anime people. Some of them have orange hair, pink hair, green hair, purple eyes, exaggerated cartoonish physiques and so on, which doesn't really fit any race.

In more realistic animes like Death Note, however, it's obvious they're all drawn asian: you never see blue eyes or blonde hair unless it's foreign characters, except for Misa's hair which is probably dyed.

LMAO, I think some of the arrancar in Bleach might be latinos with fukked up names. Then again Szayelaporro Granz isn't exactly José or Juan, is it?

They are based on blacks, it's pretty obvious from their appearance and actions. Especially Bee's stereotypical actions like rapping and rhyming everyting or his brother, A's uncontrollable temper. Darui is the only non stereotype.

There are only a couple that could pass for having a purely Asian intention. The rest of them look "westernized."

a) me being white
b) growing up in america
these contributed to white being the default human form for me which was my issue all along. (my bad) but don't try and say this is the theory you were promoting all along. you were saying that the asian form isn't suitable for anime and wouldn't would make it less entertaining.

Well, the statement was already riding on the exaggerated stereotypes which is what my initial post was based off, well that and a little humor, becausue honestly most cacs arent 6 ft tall, blond hair, blue eyed with an impecable jaw structure, quite the opposite really
so that description of asains was obviously playing off the same sterotypes
