And what does Nina's look being common have to do with someone portraying HER look?:mindblown:

Because some suggesting thats what "real Blacks" look like

No one ever argued she wasn't miscast but when you bring Blackness into the discussion you better have a good argument.

She wasn't attractive....? Plenty of broad faced, dark skinned Africans who are beautiful.

Negro you said ANY standard of beauty...sh
You don't get to determine Nina's value/worth/beauty for anyone other than yourself...

She was absolutely gorgeous...

And you are the main one in here mad that she was with a white man :laff:

It's not down playing it, besides her hair which she does chemically treat via a Brazilian treatment, and her lighter complexion she has to down play her "wide" and "broad" nose as well. In America yeah she most likely would get picked over a Danai Gurira, but Zoe ain't getting no roles in the Latin market.
Brazilian treatment doesn't chemically alter your hair the same way flat ironing your hair doesn't. Relaxers are a different ball game.
and this discussion is centered around white media and america. and even then if we want to talk about the latin market, she would get picked over a anna maria horsford.

Yes it does, a Brazilian treatment is a chemical straightening treatment that leaves your hair almost permanently straight.

I dont consider her black , she's an admixture. She is the product of two mixed people who had kids together , she has strong european features with brown skin.

As for the Iman comparisons, arent a lot of Ethiopians very mixed? I have seen ethiopians with very dark skin and nappy hair to light or brown complected with curly straight hair. Either way Zoe Saldana who has just washed away her black genes fits the role perfectly of playing Nina Simone lol

Yea , even the darkest of us imo but our black genes outweigh the cac in us, we just need to stay away from breeding with light skin people to get back on track.

it last about 4-5 months until your hair reverts back because it doesn't chemically alter your hair. Once you relax your hair, you can't go back.
regardless, she would never be "nappy headed" which was my point in the first place. Remember thresholds.

Iman is Somali.

Cushytic and Nilotic people genetically 100% African look like her, mixed breed.
