that's how it seems to me somtimes, cats say "why can't they have a black person in that role" but then when there's a black person in the same role they complain about all kinds of shyt, double standard just like women, etc you can't say it's not true. i'm not saying EVERYONE is like that but i guarantee there would be a vocal group that would try to make those points.

We don't even know which part she was up for, if it was the Juno Temple role I don't remember that character being a pick pocket.
Either way you don't see a problem with the fact that the few times black actors and actresses are considered for a role it is the role of a criminal.

i'm not saying actors don't get stereotyped, i'm saying that sometimes when black actors DO get a role that would have been the same no matter what, SOME people complain that she was a pick pocket or whatever when in reality it didn't matter if the character was black or white. it says in the OP "best guess" is she was supposed to be "Jen the pickpocketing friend" you're telling me you wouldn't have heard "oh but why did she have to be a pick pocket!? if she was white they wouldn't have added that part" it's the same with feminists when they complain about bullshyt

Its not why did she have to be the pickpocket, its why is that the only role she was considered for.
Of course the pick pocket role is gonna exist either way and any race can get it. However it's an issue when the casting director some how only considers whites for the leads or non-stereotypical roles but somehow become "colorblind" when it is time to cast the criminals.
