Whats crazy is the best D-End in football is 285 lb, but he is only 6 foot and his knees are fine. I know two different sports and skillsets it just crazy how ppl are making it out like he is Micheal Sweetney or Oliver Miller. Dude is solid.
Football players ain't spending 36 minutes constantly running up and down a hardwood floor while jumping 35+ inches off it every other play then coming down hard on one leg like this kid will be tho. Even if he miraculously escaped major injury during his career hovering at that kind of weight there's straight up 0% chance he won't be paying for it in the long term after he's done playing. Unless he sprouts up to 6'10+ at some point he will have to shed major pounds if he doesn't want to suffer a short and/or long term complications with his feet, ankles, and/or knees.
The human body and knees specifically just ain't built for the wear and tear that comes with long-term running and jumping on hard tracks and floors. I see people comparing him to Barkley as an example of how he might be fine but Barkley was never listed bigger than 250-260 lbs and he didn't get off the ground as high as Zion appears to either. When you have the ridiculous bounce this kid has AND you add on 285 lbs of weight those knees have to support through all that sprinting up and down the court, explosive movements to get up as high as he does, then trying to safely land all that mass, it's a recipe for disaster.
