Black people are collectively poor.
yeah sure.

Then in the next thread we will hear all about "black spending power" :camby:

Poor is a vague word, but the majority of black people in America, in 2016, are living fairly comfortable relative to the past and other people around the world.

By that measuring stick, Black people have nothing to complain about.

Of course poverty is relative. You definitely are using the wrong reference group

There's plenty to complain about. Things can always improve. And in reality the majority of white people are in this same boat. Remember it's the 10% at the top in America that gets to eat. Relative to them we are all "poor" it's not something exclusive to black people. Look at where he's giving these speeches at. All the people in the fukking crowd are white and "poor"

But you'd never hear a politician get up and tell white "you are poor" "your schools suck" "etc", and you'd damn sure never hear white people go :ehh:" you know what he's right"

That's the propaganda. They get up and tell the white folks "those ******s are worse off than you" and "any problems you do have is "the others" fault"

They get up and tell black people "you generally ain't shyt"

Everybody believes them, and they laugh their way to the bank.

Of course poverty is relative. You definitely are using the wrong reference group
What reference group should be used?

Why is the only comparison "white people"?

it's just like the woman in the video said, many Black people are completely delusional or dishonest about our collective situation on this planet.

yea that dumb shyt ain't even worthy of acknowledgement.
the US is the richest country on earth, :mjlol: @ comparing the living standards of black americans to someone living in a remote village in pakistan or some dumb shyt
dude legit asked if you were hungry.
This sort of mental gymnastics in the name of pride or whatever it is ultimately hurts our people and delays the rectification of the issues

This is the same chick that was talking greasy about Frances Cress Welsing after she died so I'm wary of co-signing her.

That said, I agree with the basic premise that much of what Trump said was true as far as us being in a bleak situation and how voting Democrat hasn't helped and isn't going to help.

We shouldn't vote for Trump, particularly because his speech didn't include any semblance of a specific agenda for us. But auto-voting for the Democrat candidate has yet to help us break out of being on the bottom of the totem pole in the fifty years that we've been doing it.

I compared the living standards of black people to ourselves in the past.

In the "richest country in the world"

70% of its citizens are relatively "poor"

Why should black people be immune to this?

Why is it that we pretend it's only black people in this situation?
