I've been saying since day 1 rj has star potential yet got huge resistance based off his rookie season and playing with elf pisston
RJ averaged 20/6/3 on 51% shooting and 45% from 3 in 20 games w/out elf pisston last season

His potential was always intangible based tho. People feel he just had the mental makeup to be great, but skill wise it was hard to see. I can’t wait until the rest of the league catches up tho. Of course, the second he blows up all we’ll hear is how “he was the 3rd pick of course he’d be good”.

Which is why RJ and Jules should be the only primary scorers in the 1st unit. Ev and Kemba can handle playmaking and Mitch is always a lob threat.

True, I use to say that about KP and Melo too and in the end, KP didn’t have the heart or health to grow into a better player even without Melo carrying him. RJ has that potential but he might never put it together.As long as Julius is on the team, RJ is gonna be held back.
If RJ wants to be that #1 scorer let him show it on the floor and then the Knicks can build around him on his second contract.
