honestly there’s so much hidden talent in this years draft it’s looking like it doesn’t even matter who they took anyone can be good. I just have my preferences :manny:

Now if Knicks could’ve moved up and drafted Kuminga I know we’d all be ready to throw RJ in the bushes :banderas:

warriors looking like they got the real steal of the draft :ooh:
Also gotta consider value. Deuce for 1.2 million dollars>>>>>Davion Mitchell at 5 million for us and what we are trying to do roster wise.

Instant Fan Favorite.

Late game plus an early commute to work means I couldn't write out a recap. But some quick thoughts:

IQ - Just out there looking like a man amongst rookies. He made some really nice reads and passes, but his feel at PG is still a work in progress. There's room for a lot of growth in terms of feel and pace, but he also will do some things like the baseline drive where he found Deuce wide open on the baseline behind him that let you know...kid could really develop into more than just a scoring guard with a sixth man upside.

Obi - Also in man amongst rooks mode...but for someone with so much athleticism, he played a little to finesse for my taste. His best moments were powering through or speeding by guys and some of his best summer league highlights are where he misses the initial lay-up but bodies guys on the drives and has free putbacks after.

Deuce - Thibs is gonna find minutes for this kid if he keeps it up. He'll be the reason Kemba and Rose's health can hold up and they can be well-rested. The defensive highlights are my favorite part but the three balls were cold-blooded.

Grimes - His defense is getting overshadowed by McBride. But Grimes is doing a lot of the little stuff really well. He's a great rebounder, aggressive defender (though the aggression gets him in trouble at times), and his shot selection is good even if it's not falling. His inability to get any separation off the dribble against Summer League guys...a little scary. But I think the shot starting to fall would help change that equation a bit, so I'm still hopeful. Even at worst, he's projecting as a three and D glue kinda guy.

Rokas - Getting more and more comfortable with minutes. I loved when IQ told him to cut through and he hit the trey on the baseline. He needs seasoning, but I see why he was a top-40 mocked player.

Sims - Bad game. He finally looked like a rookie from the fouls to struggling on the glass. The good news is that even when he's off his game, our squad is exponentially better with him as an inside threat. He's clearly a better prospect than most guys out there which bodes well...but yeah, the G-league will probably be good for him to get needed reps and development before we start talking about Mitch or Noel trades.

Travis - My least favorite Summer League Player. Is Justin Patton hurt? I'd rather watch him back-up Sims.
Selden - I thought he'd be my least favorite Summer League Player..but he's stepped it up and is my second-least favorite instead.
