I like them both for different reasons. DBZ was the more ground breaking show in terms of anime animation styles. DBZS early fight sequences were the shyt.

Love them both, I would argue despite it's short length Trigun is better than both of them though.
A lot of people call Cowboy Bebop "The perfect Anime", but I feel like Trigun executed the same formula as Bebop with way better characters and anime action.

If you watch DBZ and fall in love with a character like Krillib,Yamacha or tien . Your fukked because in the next story arc they are weak and useless and get no camera time.
Meanwhile side kicks like Kuwabara stay relevant throughout the entirety of the series and even become a essential part of the cast in the sensui saga when your watching yu yu hakusho. For example Hiei is my fav and was around the whole series but Trunks is my fav in DBZ and became useless and a background character after the cell saga lol
