I see where you’re coming from but this is not the same situation whatsoever.

Kobe was never accused of multiple crimes and had a squeaky clean image at the time.

Ja has had multiple run ins with the law and citizens accusing him of either assault or something similar. This was just the first time he was caught red handed on camera doing something to jeopardize his standing in the league.

I guarantee if there was concrete evidence against Kobe he would not have been playing during that trial. That evidence was always shaky.


Edit: Now that I’m thinking about it… it was only pre-trial that occurred during the season right? Before the start of the 04-05 season the charges were dismissed. So what the fukk are you talking about?
