If I was a Warriors fan and I had Rick Barry's jersey and a bunch of Warriors memorabilia, but I couldn't be able to explain to you what it means when Steph gets put into a box and one, or couldn't tell you what Draymond's role in the offense was, or couldn't tell you specifically how Wiggins has been playing, I wouldn't fit the bill of a genuine fan
It's just obsession and shallow fanaticism. That type of fan watches the games for the outcome and not out of the passion and love they have for their team and the sport their team is playing. They don't know what's going on if it's not an interception or a TD

Ok just talking this specific topic, that doesn’t make him less of a fan. In fact in marketing, these are the fans we target, and these type of fans make up A LOT of every fanbase’s majority. Not every fan is going to know what a Cover 2 is. To say it’s not a genuine fan means that the definition of fan means you have to know every single facet of the thing you’re fanning and that is simply not true. He may not be the type of fan YOU are, but he, and others, are still fans nonetheless.
With that said, this guy is done and idk if he’ll be locked up because it seems as police always pick and choose which people they lock up from these youtube sting operations, but it’s still a wrap for him. Dude knows he has a significant following, knows he was put on blast last year, and still is trying to meet up with kids. He’s mentally ill and it’s a good thing they set him up cuz lord knows how long he would have kept soliciting minors.
