you really took the title of the video completely literal :skip: that is for clicks

Watch what he says right here at 3:35

:ld: is by using the word priests for scientist your way of saying that most religious leaders and scientists are con artists?

Feel free to show me an "almost perfectly spherical" pear

Not only that, please explain to me why the dimensions in the photo you posted don't lineup with ANYTHING ngt said in that video?

it's just for visual reference. The actual earth is so massive that by the time you backed up far enough away it would still just look like a perfect sphere.

Notice the numbers on this one. Now, remember that the earth is a whole order of magnitude larger in size. The effect of the diameter difference just isn't perceivable to us. It's still there though.

This is also effected by the moon and our own orbit around the sun. Because the center of density of all of the masses in the group technically rotates around each other, the actual "center" of the earth isn't at its geographic center either. This is my hypothesis for the strange bulge.

the owner of the channel used pear to attract attention. Just like the videos you got your theories from.

In the 1800s they called it yellow journalism. That's happening today on the internet.

That picture still isn't displaying a pear-shaped oblate spheroid with a bulge below the equator

It's still showing the "bulge" essentially at the equator

thats because the only lie about the video is in the title. "Pear shaped" is the inconsistency

because your brain immediately thinks this:

Because that's how a pear looks

So now I'm falling for marketing for assuming that high priest ngt understands the meaning of the words he chooses to use?

because when people want to get points across, its easier to make connections using language that is more human

Neil DeGrasse Tyson is HEAVILY popular for that attribute. There are many scientists that are smarter or have made a greater contribution but lack his storytelling

That said, a pear has changes in its diameter in both the X and Y planes. The earth only has this in one plane (the diameter is not smaller at one pole than it is at the other). Thus why the term oblate spheroid makes sense.

Oblate means flattened at the poles. Which is actually how the earth is. This gif is how the solar system looks when your point of reference is outside of it.

I know that the term "pear-shaped oblate spheroid" doesn't make sense

I also know that just from looking at the gif you yourself just posted, it's literally impossible for the constellations to perfectly repeat themselves on a yearly cycle like they now

thats because once again its still just marketing :lolbron:

take this gif for instance. It appears it is moving very fast right? Well, what if everything around it is also moving very fast...but in the same general direction?

That's exactly what is happening in our galaxy. Because the same effect that causes the shape of hurricanes is eerily similar to how galaxy shapes form.

Space isn't necessarily empty per se :cacwot: Think of time and space like a fluid and it will all start making more sense.

I didn't learn this in regular physics though :jbhmm:

But that's not what's happening though

Are you familiar with "blue/red shift"?

Are you familiar with angular rotation mechanics?

Are you familiar with how both apply to the parallax of the stars with respect to us on earth?

Did you watch that other video I posted?

Also, no need to add the circular "science" gibberish of the bold into your posts

Breh you're trying to explain baseline astrophysical dynamics to a dude who thinks Antarctica is a wall cause he watched Game of Thrones and went "damn that shyt looks cool as hell" at all the Jon Snow scenes :russ:
