They basically said in 4 months any content that they or their algorithm decides is for kids won't have any targeted ads on it, no comments, can't be added to playlist and no notifications.

So what if say a YouTuber had a Pokémon dedicated channel? That's franchise is popular with kids. Are they then gonna say all Pokémon content on YouTube is blacklisted going forward because they don't know who is watching so they assume it's a child?

One of the creators I watch AbdallahSmash does a lot of Nintendo content and keeps it clean so he's family accessible. This puts a bullseye on his back because kids can and do watch his content.

I guess that's what some creators get for making content that's family accessible. YouTube is slowly being destroyed. Pretty soon nobody will know what content they can make and have it be acceptable.

This is a response to the people who take advantage of YouTube’s shyt algorithm to try to get kids to watch truly fukked up videos. They popped up on my niece’s feed and it freaked me out man. She’s 6.

Yes... it's been alot if this shyt going on..
If u got kids be careful.
They got vids that look safe...
Even if u catch ur kids watching them, u might not think anything is wrong at 1st glance.

But they got some fukked up shyt in it, that's harmful to children

It's a tough battle.
On one hand there's a lot of creepy click bait that's labeled as content safe, but on the other hand internet is some what of a safe zone to experience things out of boundary.

YouTube does have it's agendas. (UNFORTUNATE for how GOAT of a app medium it is. Even more popular than other social medias) But as long as it doesn't keep censoring local talent, black content conscious channels, and history informations than I'm alright.

The moderators who check on the site kind of do a shyt job of actually making safer content personal to user tastes and try to rely more so on the computer doing the work. The end result is a huge malfunction of content slip and deletion.

However despite his current set of flaws Is Still Remains popular because it's really the only open source video content website application that continuously updates instill because of how easy to use the app works with decent upload times and up load times in playback without needing an account to view most of the content.

Though I caught softcore porn recommendations before from youtube after viewing some home improvement videos. Lol true story!

It's a response to a government fine. Legally if you track a kids viewing habits and use it to target them with ads you have to disclose that to the parents. YouTube was tracking everyone's viewing habits and in public saying nobody under 13 is allowed to have an account but privately selling advertisers on the fact that kids younger than 13 watch YouTube. The government caught them and forced a settlement / fine.

The problem is some parents let kids watch YouTube on an adult account. YouTube's broken solution is anybody watching anything they think is content for kids can't be tracked for targeted ads. Content they think kids are into goes into this no mans land that creators can't really monetize or have any viewer and creator interaction on.

Some content like Minecraft isn't especially for kids but kids love to view it. If you're a YouTuber that makes Minecraft videos or Pokémon videos you're sweating bullets right now because your whole channel could get blacklisted and become worthless.
