Actually no....I change my mind.
In the spirit of the thread, I'll choose TV shows.
Because, TV shows are much better at "wasting" a day with...because you can watch episode after episode after episode to kill time. When I'm done watching most movies, I'm good for at least a couple hours...need time for the shyt to settle in. Movies rarely end in cliffhangers or are designed to lead into the next movie/installment. TV shows are GREAT at this.
So with that said, TV.
