If she’s working just the same hours as her man, not really fair to ask her to do duties that are only being assigned to her because of her gender. But in every relationship, for it to work, both parties need to willingly do selfless acts of care that lets it be known they love each other.

As far as the conversation goes, he's right; job or not, a woman shouldn't have any problems with cooking or cleaning around the house. With that said, nobody is saying that women in relationships' only duties are to be cleaning and cooking around the house to no avail, while their men are just sitting there kick-backing and relaxing.
It's a 50/50 agreement, teamwork makes the dream work.
This is something every adult should know how to do without catching an attitude. Employed or unemployed, married or unmarried, cooking and cleaning are a must as an adult.

this argument is a thing because they vast majority of women can't cook and clean for shyt nowadays tho. We losing recipes.
Had this with my aunt growing up. She does this. Tells people she wants something done but she wants it done HER way. Just do it yourself
Also adults should know how to cook/clean in 2024. My friends wife can cook but she doesn't clean as good as my friend so he will end up cleaning. It works for them. I don't know why keeping a functioning home is beneath people.
This has never been a point of contention for me in any of my relationships. Outside of the minor thing like when I cook I don't tend to clean as I cook I haven't seen it.
I don't know where these guys are that don't keep a clean place unless they're 21 or something.
