A place isn't automtically better because it's a hole in the wall ; I often see this idea a lot that ethnic food (Mexican in particular) has to be cheap and from a run down place to be good.

But I've had some amazing food from mid range places. And here in New York at least, you'll find menu items that you're not gonna find at say, a random taco truck in the Bronx
