Many people have fond memories of when they were a teen watching. My most fond WWF/WCW memories are still from renting videos when i was a child.

WWE changed up their style of wrestling in 2004 into the slow paced garbage, and Rock and Austin left, HHH reign of terror

You gotta remember it wasn't until the late 90s that monthly PPVs became a thing, people weren't going all out in TV matches back then (they were mostly squashes) and if there's only 4 or 5 PPVs a year , not a ton of opportunities for epic matches per year. Plus the big men back then worked more of a plodding style (not saying they didn't have great matches from time to time, Hogan vs Warrior WM6 was great).
