Rock and Austin was so huge they turned the WWF into a billion dollar company and pretty ended the nwo.

Austin was huge for a time for sure, so was Rock. I mean Hogan in comparison to Cena, not comparable in terms of magnitude of star. And let's take Austin, he had a couple of gigantic record breaking years but in terms of stardom I personally would put Hogan ahead because he was big in the 80's, the 90's and even after that. He had major matches in several different decades on top, someone like Austin you can't really say that about. Hogan's 80's reign was historic, he also main events so many of the early mania's, something have not seen done in that way before. Has done some real scumbag stuff and I don't really respect him anymore but witnessing some of the stuff he's done I remember a lot of it, he was larger than life. Some of my early wrestling memories I remember were with Hogan. He was never actually my personal favourite, as a kid mine was Macho Man but I realised Hogan was the biggest.

West where the Sunsets
No order: DB, Austin, Hitman, Kang Kurt.

I'm tempted to put Omega in my top 5. Watching the first match he had with Okada was special, and he made my interest in indy wrestling return.

We all know who Hogan is...but you definitely underestimate how many people were raised off of Rock and Austin. And Rock's fame didnt come from movies..it was the Rock who put Hogan back on the map when no one cared if he was alive or dead after his 2000 exile in WCW.

Bret, got into wrestling when he was moving up the card and becoming a main avenger so he was the top guy at the time
Austin
Rock
Daniel Bryan, saw him from the time he was feuding with Henry and Show
HBK, mostly saw second half of his first run, after he became a singles wrestler and he put on some good matches from the match with Razor Ramon to ones with Diesel, Austin, and Taker. Saw some of his second run but not much that I remember.

Honorable mention: Taker before the streak ended and before the invasion angle. I'll include punk also but I got back into wrestling right when summer of punk ended so I only saw the second half of his career. I think it was right after summerslam and he started that year long reign or the really long one, don't remember the length. I enjoyed it but my top 5 I liked more

I don't, I was around so I remember it well, infact I think I saw both Austin and Rock's debuts till their last appearances in the company. Austin had a few mega years, he blew up and his biggest years was a boom period too, so millions remember him, and The Rock for a good while was the best thing on the show. he got bigger in wrestling but of course the movie roles made him bigger. WCW was a declining and dead brand, at that time nobody could really save it, especially with the dreadful booking. Just Hogan's initial Hulkamania run was revolutionary, I think he main evented 8 of the first 9 Wrestlemania's which is unprecedented and holds even greater significance cause they were the first, think the 1 he didn't main event he was still in there at the end too. Without Hogan there honestly may not have been a Wrestlemania. he mainevented numerous Starrcade's too. His longevity is huge doing big shyt, that counts for something because it was generations of people knowing him. You could argue he was greatly responsible for the 2 big boom periods too. And I don't think it was a case of Rock putting him back on the map then, I remember at the time the match everyone thought it was gonna be was Austin vs Hogan, Hogan against 1 of the big WWE guys was huge. Like I said, not a good person, but objectively he was a major player in wrestling, the way I've seen generations know about him is like nothing I've ever seen. The Rock is probably the closest to that when the movie shyt started kicking off, everyone knows The Rock now. Austin I don't think achieved that same kind of outside of the business fame the others did, but everyone knows Hogan and Rock.

It's Undertaker's 55th birthday today and my buddy that doesn't watch anymore asked me if he's the best wrestler ever. I said he's so good he's almost over looked and wasn't used like other guys. Anyway maybe me think of my top 5 in no order
1.Flair
2. Hogan
3. HBK
4. Stone Cold
5. John Cena - I know i'll catch heat for this but Cena was just as big as Hogan and carried the company longer than anyone really.

Cena was not even close to being as big as Hogans original hulkamania run...not even close.Hogan was 1 of 3 most famous athletes on the planet at the time (Jordan,Tyson) Thats how big he and it was...

All those guys in ur top 5 were top names at one point but were never top wrestlers in terms of in ring ability....maybe Michaels but the other 4 were just biggest box office draws....In terms of biggest draws:

1.Hogan
2.Rock
3.Austin
4.Savage
5.Sting
