[Intro: Dr. Doom]
My servants began to forge what was to become
The most dreaded costume on the face of the earth
The last thing to fit was the mask
Will it conform to my twisted features in comfort? :jbhmmm:

[Verse 1]
He cleans his metal mask with gasoline, they after him
Last seen pulling chicks like a fiend pull a fast one (and it fits! :blessed:)
Can't put shyt past him
Got nikkas on his own team mad enough to blast him
Retarded in real life :dwillhuh:, on the mic Rain Man :jawalrus:
Stand close to his main man like a chain gang
Who give a fukk about who or they fancy crew :childplease:
That's no mystery like Hardy Boys do with Nancy Drew :whoo:
Sorta with her drawers down quarter :hamster:
The extorter bring slaughter like "Well I oughta" :stopitslime:
I suggest you hand over the formula dula/doula :feedme:
A villain in your land :birdman:, in his land a ruler :smugdraper:
Hard hitting like puffing a woola with Lieutenant Uhura :myman:
Every day feel like it's an off day with Ferris Bueller :ld:
Brother pull heat to prove they not sweet :wtb:
No matter how you spell it, we still got beats :manny:

[Verse 3]
By candlelight my hand will write these rhymes 'til I'm burnt out :deadrose:
Mostly from experience, shyt that I learned about :ohhh:
Topics and views, generally concerned about :patrice:
With different ways to come up and earn clout :youngsabo:
I take a look at my life and pace the trails
From Tablik and savage females with fake nails to face veils :usure:
You out your frame but still bagging 'em too
You know I know, these hoes be asking me if I'm you :lupe:
Like my twin brother, we did everything together
From hundred raka'at salats to copping butter leathers:to:
Remember when you went and got the dark blue Ballys
I had all the different color Cazals and Gazelles :sadcam:
The "SUBROC" three-finger ring with the ruby in the "O", ock
Truly the illest dynamic duo on the whole block :mjcry:
I keep a flick of you with the machete sword in your hand
Everything is going according to plan man:sadbron:

I don't know if you're a guy or girl, but anyway... I have so many memories with this album. It takes me right back to 2004. Halfway through college.

First of all, it's one of the best album covers I've ever seen in hip hop/RnB. It's personal too because I had just broken up with someone who I was dating long distance (really long distance). So the Connected theme just hit me in the gut.

Allow me to tell a story: I checked out the album right when it came out. I didn't know anything about it; I just knew Phonte was involved. So I start listening to it - and it was really weird. It didn't sound like anything that was out at the time. I remember hearing "Let's Move" and being like: "wtf is this beat? This is some Disney, Snow-White-in-the-forest shyt!" And I was surprised that it wasn't wack. so I found out it was a cat named Nicolay who was foreign doing all the beats.

After hearing it, I loved some songs (some I didn't like - too cheery), but MY JOINT was "Come Around". Every time I had a house party or I was at a house party, I put it on. And girls would always ask me, "what song is this?!" Eventually we all started it playing it at all our house parties/jams. Always got the girls moving. The guys mack and get to touching...

"Connected" is the kind of music that I wish more people would make. It's warm. It gets people together, lowers their guard.

And that sticks with people for a lifetime, not TI Urban Legend or Jeezy:

Great story breh. My chick it's a foreigner also. Back in the day her myspace page had "The Answer" from The Foreign Exchange album. I connected with her (pun intended) more thru similar tastes in music. She's a hip-hop/house dancer. So we have extreme chemistry and interests when it comes to music.

it's almost impossible to pick just 1 but fukk it, i'll play along :manny:

i came in here thinkin' public enemy's it takes a nation of millions but then i started thinkin' bout r&b albums, funk, rock, punk and heavy metal albums that i love and completely became puzzled as to what my one album pick would be

then i wanted to say curtis mayfield's super fly but then i wanted to say barry white's greatest hits but you know what and then i thought bout the one man who married all these styles of music together from pop to soul/r&b to funk, country and even some elements of gospel (sly came from church) and it came down to sly (and the family stone) but then i asked myself, which album of their's? because sly and the family gotta catalog on some next level music. their music from 68' to like 74' was miles above the rest imo, the best of the best :obama:

i could go with any of sly and the family stone's albums from 68' to 74' because i love em' all that much but instead i'll roll with sly and the family's anthology album

it's got the hits and even some of my favorite album non singles on it too. it's one of the very few albums i can listen to time and time again and never get tired of it

if you think prince is the man and really like his music, then lemme put it like this, sly is prince's musical father. sly was like prince but 20 times better imo :wow:

sly and the family stone - anthology album :ohlawd:
