With the bolded, Will SMith needs Tom Cruise's agent, because he picks some good freakin movies. Both were based on mangas i believe but they were original flicks with original premises. EoT was more like a doever of WW2 Normandy and in Oblivion, that AI already did a number on humanity.

It's not his agent... Tom Cruise is hiring the same writer [and in some cases director] for most of his recent flicks... Christopher McQuarrie, who is great at writing action/thrillers... dude wrote Usual Suspects and wroete/directed The Way of the Gun.

I’m surprised Will Smith, as big as he is, don’t have the connections like Cruise has. He could work with Fuqua but his movies may be too dark for him. Tom is the Star in all his movies, from Reacher series to MI series and Will is still getting so-so rolls like Deadshot. I like DS get his own series and have Will build off of that.

Just to clarify, Orson Welles did a radio play. The first War of the Worlds movie was unrelated, although it, too, is awesome.

I wouldn't call it "unrelated". Its all based on the same story
