:dahell:

It's just your damn birthday. That info is far from sensitive :francis:

Its never that simple, breh. Pros gather small data points here and there to put together a full profile in order to gain access to more sensitive information. Let's say the coli was hacked and they got access to all of our email addresses and unhashed passwords. And also say, for instance, some of us are using those same passwords for email, then all they need to reset bank accounts or Facebook logins is to answer a few simple questions on those sites and having the reset password links sent to the email addresses they already have access to. Granted, they may be able to find your birthdate in your email, but exposing your information here shows that you're both an active user and also gullible enough to share information like this which would put you on a shortlist to be socially hacked down the road in another format -- whether that be Facebook or someone calling you out the blue probing you for information.

Maybe its because I do this for a living, but you should do your best not to share any information about yourself. Hackers are much much smarter than you think. shyt, the coli wolves exposed elderly greek pawg just the other day just by looking at a goddamn Target commercial.

Even if you think this thread is harmless, at least steer clear of actual online surveys that are similar to these that harvest your data for marketers or worse foreign entities.
