Congrats to him. He's very young, but I'd have to see the ideas that he ran on before I make any kind of assessment. He could very well be better than the old cronies that have been running the town. This is a very small town so he should be fine. If it was some mid level or big city, there's no way I'd hand the keys over to an 18 year old, but of a population less than 2,000, he may be able to handle that.

a population of 1700 is smaller than many high schools. Giving him a city of 70,000+ to manage is a no-go, but some small, rural town might be manageable.
