Bro, how can you know all of that and not understand how this is another facet of white supremacist agenda for the image of black men? :dahell:

It's like you got to the one yard line and fumbled :skip:

White supremacy attacks from all sides....including imagery and media representation :sas1:

All the things you mentioned relate directly or indirectly to destroying black male imagery in the home and society :martin:

So, how is it that the effort to feminize black male imagery in mass media doesn't set off the same alerts for you? :why:

It's just another way to weaken the image and role of the black male as a competitive force in society :aicmon:

Because black men, over the course of 500 years in this country, haven't been feminized on any significant level. Black men have been successfully criminalized, dehumanized, de-intellectualized, institutionalized, systematically improvised, victims of bio-warfare and literally all of those things can be measured in sufficient margins in our communities as a result. We go to prison more, die more, perform lower in academics and are poorer than all other racial groups - and other races of men - as a result. This is not the case with homosexuality, transgenderism or feminization.

When Young Thug gets on a song and brags about killing other young black men because he's a thug, it's problematic because black males are disproportionate victims of gang warfare.

When Young Thug gets on a song and brags about blowing money and being financially irresponsible, it's problematic because black males are disproportionately financially struggling and being reckless with money, for that reason, is particularly destructive.

When Young Thug puts on a dress for a photoshoot and makes it his album cover, that's just Young Thug being queer. Some people are just queer. And some people get paid to dress and act queer.

Everything is not some grand conspiracy by the great big bad white man. Black men clown Young Thug's fakkitry. Black men, by and large, and without question are masculine. End of story.

And in that last paragraph, you just acknowledged your ignorance of white supremacy. White supremacy is an entire system dedicated to espousing white domination over people classified as non-white in ALL AREAS OF PEOPLE ACTIVITY. Including media and sex.

Bro, you make some good points and then you make some delusional points.

Black men have been feminized in this country for years in various forms. Black men were feminized on plantations when they were victims of sexual assault and sent to buck breaking plantations where they were publicly sodomized. And when they were unable to defend and protect their mates and children from the ravages of plantation life.

Black men were feminized when they were intentionally removed from head of household position via slavery, Jim Crow, employment discrimination, hyper-criminalization, etc. Where black men faced incredible obstacles to them being a breadwinner and anything more than a sperm donor.

Black men may be masculine now, for the most part. But via media, including hip hop music, an agenda is in place to feminize black boys. To massage the idea of femininity into the psyche of black boys and black teens. This is part of the same overall agenda to remove black men from household as providers and protectors. And as viable competition to those classified as white males.

It's unfortunate that we have so many blacks who share your view on this. But blacks have been missing forest for trees for quite some while now.

Peace

Jim Crow, employment discrimination, hyper-criminalization, etc is not feminization. When I say that, I mean none of that was done with the intent of making black men more feminine and none of those things actually did make black men more feminine. You have a strange definition of 'feminine' that no dictionary I know of agrees with. It was done to make black men weaker, yes but not feminine. Femininity is not weaker than masculinity; it's the other side of a spectrum defined by aesthetics and certain strains of behavior.

The only thing that can be considered feminization in your post is sexual assault during slavery...but that practice or any psychological byproducts of that practice - that I know of - wasn't carried over in anyway to modern African-American culture particularly. If making black men more feminine with that was the objective...well they failed.

Black men were already removed from the household with the welfare state, the criminal justice system, violence and propaganda that taught black people that black men aren't valuable leaders. Saying that feminization is about of an 'overall agenda' SOUNDS GOOD because it plays into conventional things we already know for a fact about white supremacy..but it hasn't been proven the way the criminalization of the black male, for instance, has been proven. At this point, the 'feminization of the black male' is a myth to me until I see an unquestionable cause and effect. Until then, I'm gonna assume this is all just a way to disapprove of contemporary artists while we praise dead ones who did the same thing.
