I agree there are the bunch who are literally cultural zombies, a large number of people seem to fall into that category.

But at the same time, Young Thug is not a role model, he's an entertainer, I'm entertained by a decent amount of his music. You going ahead and saying no one "real" can mess with him like this is some divine topic is an attempt to force how you feel about things onto others.

Well that was the point really, apart from the cultural aspect, as it's about trendhopping and liking what everyone else likes or what's in the moment rather than quality. He may not be a good role model but the truth is his impact and others like him is doing a lot of damage. Have to say no-one real I know likes his shyt at all, I don't know the people on here to comment. I don't think it's divine at all, but I do think it is part of an agenda.

Why don't have pull like that anymore?

ATL is a fashion banging city.

nikkas rep and bang shyt to be fashionable.

Music has a large influence on fashion, with Thug being hottest local artist right now, the whole city is now full of fake bloods.

Back when DTE was hot musically(locally) the gang was thriving and they had tons of pull, as the music got less hot, so did the gang....

They honestly fukked up by beefing with Jeezy and TIP, it killed their industry connects and kept em at a street level

He wasn't really a "star" QB, just the starter on a sorta shytty team lol. He was better at basketball honestly....

But dude was doing the weirdo/attention shyt since before high school when all the sports attention and shyt is usually received, but he was funny with it in school. Dude is actually smart and a trendsetter, he doesnt even have the same country accent that most hood nikkas from his side of town do.

This a pic of Thug in middle school, he the tall dark skin nikka with the weird blue and orange clothes on, this was the shyt he was rocking during the 3X white tall tee and jersey era. The odd shyt carried on throughout high school, you can see how he got voted best dressed as a joke among students lol

In Atlanta local rappers get way more p*ssy than local high school athletes lol...

Saw the TI and ythug video the other night for the first time and it's obvious he's a homosexual. To each his own but it's blatantly there. I think Bobby Shmurda is a little suspect too.

This isn't a time for tin foil hats. It ain't that serious.

It wasn't that people were peer pressured into liking him online :heh:

It's simply, they heard the gay rumors, maybe a couple "unorthodox" sounding tracks and jumped to conclusions. He's been dropping tons of music lately, it's hard to not like EVERYTHING by him.

You can't be this naive.

The vast majority of people on here are terrified of not being "cool" to other posters. Look at the Chief Keef shyt....everyone on here jumped on that bandwagon....you suddenly had half the board using Chicago slang, talking about drill rap is one of the biggest movements in rap history, claiming Vice Lord or whatever the fukk over night.

If you just paid attention to this board, you'd think "Finally Rich" was gonna do "Thriller" numbers. Then it dropped and flopped horrifically, and people quietly stopped talking about him.

It's not just Keef or Young Thug. Most people by nature are sheep. Look at any hot rapper from the last decade, and how people were treated that leveled any criticism at them. Then compare it to after they fell off, and how it became cool for everyone to clown them. It's happened most recently with Wayne, and to a lesser extent CMR/YM in general.

:what:

Anyhow, I agree with what you said. People are not sheep by nature in my eyes though, more so a result of programming on top of years of bad habits and lack of discipline while also lacking guidance. You end up with a bunch of group think cats.

Anyhow, why pay attention to those group thinkers breh, you know what it is. :manny:

i think in any other context somebody going "look at those sheeples, just crowding to the popular thing, they don't really know what they like" would be dismissed as a 13-year old trying very hard to be edgy but you insert the word agenda in there and suddenly it's alright for a grown man to talk like some kid who just discovered the word 'conformity'

This would make a lot more sense if the last thing this board dikk rode, Keef, was actually as popular in real life as this board pretended he was. But he wasn't, and now none of them talk about him. If Young Thug flops I guarantee the same thing will happen. Wayne's tossing songs out with zero traction, the board clowns him. When he was 3x plat they were on his dikk. 50 was going 8x plat, nonstop dikk riding. Now he struggles to get a release date, and everyone claims they never checked for him.

This has happened more times than I can count. You'd have to be 13 not to see the pattern.

oh yeah i mean if we're talking about this board specifically, people here are fukking crazy and there's a clear disconnect between what people here are into (or pretend to be into or whatever) and what people are into outside of the internet

like if you got all of your knowledge of what's popular right now from this board, you'd walk out thinking that nobody's listening to wayne and people are listening to k-rino

internet communities based around music are just crazy, it's probably the anonymity or something, i don't know
