What A time to be alive sold approximately 20 times more than Thuggers album, first week.
As far as reception from Futures best album compared to a quick mixtape collaboration, it would be odd if the mixtape received better reviews. Their synergy would have to be godly on some outkast shyt.
I like Thugger but I don't know if he can build a solid fan base cause he doesn't say shyt in his music although it's dope and he is corny ass hell of the mic. When cats feel that they feel a person, even if they don't relate that's when they gain fan bases. I feel Future, can't relate. I can even feel rich homie but Thugger is just flow and humor.
I'm really not concerned about record sales in 2015.
I'm actually sort of glad that first week sales and sales overall have taking a backseat to quality. As far as questioning his fanbase, I would hope that the goal is to grow it after the first mixtape (retail) release. You go from have a monstranomic 2014 with a platinum single into 2015 when you're getting placements with Justin Beiber and going back and forth with Lil Wayne.
I know Future's first couple of years in the game he was doing underground work with the dungeon family.. So we all know it takes time. The fact that we're comparing the two now speaks volume to where Jeff is in his young career, Not to mention his music is literally getting more innovative/creative. I look forward to his projects because I don't know what to expect....
Like I said, love future too but I gotta roll with the young buck
