Actually, I agree with you there. The presence of Black women in mainstream music and film has greatly decayed in the last twenty years. Also, a lot of talented people are being overlooked by kids that are choosing the flashy bullshyt that gets forced in their faces.

I think a few of the women mentioned in here really do have the beauty and talent to be heavy hitters, they just haven’t been given the chance.

Also, instagram and social media has ruined the mystique of celebrity. Celebs were great looking, charismatic, and talented in the past but they were also aided by crafted images and reserved demeanors. We didn’t really know them or their flaws, only an idealized version. That’s missing today.

Its on both sides really, there is a severe lack of young black male heartthrobs and young black woman heartthrobs. Hollywood pushes this shyt and Social Media reinforces it.

I’m terms of non-black figures, that isn’t a problem really, there are tons of them. Emilia Clarke, Scarlet Johansson, Gal Gadot, etc.

IG models are going to have very toxic ramifications for expectations and such though.

Issua Rae is average looking. But hey, there are women who find the actors who played Loki and Kyle attractive too.

You have unfunny pigs like Amy Schumer and Lena Dunham who they tried to push as funny/sex symbols and the backlash was horrific. So much so, they had to hide/change the ratings system on one of Amy’s Netflix special.
