A lot of it, like a lot of life, was just ego and arrogance. Doplh and Gotti weren't really rivals or wanting to kill each other, around 2015, but like other street things, it went too far, and no one could or would backdown. Because they would look weak.

Gotti kept it 100 % street but he was going way over the line, having him shot at, and the Hollywood thing almost killed him, and laughing about it.

Dolph did nothing on the street shyt but was super disrespectful in the records. Not a good combination. Sounds like Gotti's brother was too deep in the game to ever get out.
