Some of this is just the era too. The social media/viral era. Dolph understood that on some level, when he did "Play With Your bytch", that was a sensation in the rap world. but it gave me a bad feeling to even listen to that. Same reason I understand Hit Em Up, but never play it, I love it but don't go there.

I just kept thinking but what is this really about? why is he doing this? It's not necessarily about "real street" and fake but there's a whole era where people talk stupid reckless and they don't even think about the consequences. The whole culture of exposal videos, 'owning' people', the laughing emojis about dead bodies....I know when someone who I don't respect, who isn't on my level, or isn't like me, talks crazy, it burns me up inside.

Humility and checking your ego as you get older...like I don't get into issues with people anymore. 20 years ago, my boys and I did this kind of back and forth bullshyt, and thankfully no one got killed, but that was just luck and inches.

I liked Dolph music just like Gotti's, but it's killing me seeing people take sides on this and act like Dolph was some innocent citizen that got murdered.

I'm sure he did. After Dolph died it was a war in the city and people affiliated with CMG were getting knocked off all over the map. He had to feel like he was gonna get tried at some point.

Gotti probably had some knowledge but stayed far away enough to keep his hands clean.

I’m from Memphis (moved to Georgia) and used to do music until around 2012.. my name here on this board used to be something different

Dolph had a reputation for being a fly, get money nikka. Not the type to be with the shyt. It wasn’t until Key Glock came around (who brought Drop around Dolph)

CMG/Gotti/Jook is completely opposite. They on they money shyt but most of them on that side from North Memphis (North Memphis nikkas was always known for robbing and crossing nikkas out). I’ve heard stories of Gotti in the early days robbing a producer (ironically one I’ve done work with) for his MPC because the producer tried to finesse, slapped up a DJ and was forced to apologize to the entire Core DJs or he was going to get blackballed, etc. And that’s just industry shyt.

So when I don’t believe Jook was hit by them it’s because PRE never got any get back from both Charlotte incidents, LA, or 11/17 except for Lil Migo getting fired on at the airport because if they did the city would talk (Memphis is small and there’s practically 6 degrees of separation for everyone).

So that’s why I believe Jooks murder was a triple cross. Either he didn’t pay, Quette needed someone to pin this on, or Gotti trying to dodge a RICO. Or a combination of those, but I highly doubt it’s any “sliding for Dolph”.
