i figured why else be mad that the lead actor wasn't asian.

could have been cool, could have been fitting, but there was definitely the risk of alienating both longtime fans as well as those who might have been offended by the asian stereotype. granted in this day and age someone is offended no matter what you do.

I think Asians would be secretly happy to have a lead in the MCU but what do I know.You make him a guy from asia with some recognition like the raid dude and all that nonsense you are spouting gets thrown out the window because fans just want to see his moves

Asians wouldn't have to be secretly happy about anything if there were an original character of Asian decent with a comic. There is an Asian cat being cast as one of the Inhumans for Marvel who isn't Asian in the comics but then again there was never any context to his appearance.

As for the "nonsense"...Even if you wanna throw out social conscience and being inclusive which I think is GREAT, this is a Marvel...shyt more importantly MCU project, the fans would go ape shyt at a such a deviation from the source material.

I'm not mad at anything actually I just think the concept is antiquated and in 2017 could have easily been updated. Lol at the talk of angering long time fans by race swapping the character tho like iron fist has any to that scale. I think white boys would acquiesce with the quickness if they found the right Asian, unless they were Richard Spencer

No they really wouldn't, If we are talking about the legit MCU maybe, but I think Netflix is the perfect platform to stage a move like this especially because he's such a z list character.

No way making the character Asian causes an outcry like that lol, that would be like complaining about the application of white privilege. Character ain't even popular like that
