This. I think that "two day rule" is for high-schoolers, not a man with direction and determination. It's all about the approach, not the timing. Just say, "Hey I got some tickets to the ____________ tomorrow night how about I pick you up at 7?" (make sure you have tickets to something... a tequila tasting, a food festival, salsa classes, dinner theater, concert... etc....).

If a girl is feeling you, it won't matter when you text her. I've gotten numbers from females in the afternoon, text them that evening, and that night we were in her or my room. I used to abide by the waiting tactics and games, but when I got to college I quickly realized the same females I was attempting to get at, dozens of other guys were trying the same thing. I just always put my bid in ASAP. If she likes you, it doesn't matter in the least.
