Fun thread.... But let me win this now:
Wilt - (the obvious steal)
Pau - (shocker)
Rick Fox
Kobe
Nick Van Exel
Wilt, Kobe, and Rick Fox (by default) are the 3 pretty obvious choices.....
So now, you basically choose:
Magic + Horry
Or
Pau + Van Exel
In his PRIME,
Van Exel: 16.9 Pts, 8.3 Ast, .358 3pt %
Magic: 23.9 Pts, 12.2 Ast, .205 3pt % (magic average double Nick's rebounds)
In HIS PRIME:
Pau Gasul: 18.3 Points, 11.3 rebounds, 3.5 ast
Robert Horry: 7.4 points, 7.5 Rebounds
Van Exel + Pau = 35.2 ppg
Magic + Horry = 31.4 ppg (and magics 23.9 year was honestly an anomaly, but whatever)
Van Exel + Pau = 14.1 rebounds per game
Magic + Horry = 13.8 rebounds per game
Van Exel + Pau = 11.8 assists per game
Magic + Horry = 14.5 assists per game
Pau + Van exel = Better Defense
Pau + Wilt = Twin Towers
Magic assists = Meaningless when playing with a ball hog like Kobe and someone who you can just dump the ball into the post to as he scores 100 points like wilt
Wilt + Kobe don't need Magics MAIN STRENGTH, ASSISTS, so having him on a team with them is pointless...
Yet, Van Excel 3 point shooting when Kobe / Wilt get doubled, and Pau's twin tower defense and rebounding with wilt would be *unbeatable*
I win. (as always. I'm Goat.)
