Not one of the 7 billion humans roaming this earth can say why we're here. If you're a religious person, you can find a purpose and meaning as you so choose, but end of the day.....we're just here. Some people wake up and go to jobs everyday, and some people in other countries don't do anything all day but just basically hang out.

Of course we should all be kind and loving to each other, but I don't know if that would be considered a purpose for humanity.

I just go with the idea that there is no higher, telelogical purpose to be fulfilled by man and that man will never be able to reach the origins of the species. Thus, I can live as freely and fully as possible, freed from such ideological presuppositions.

Beyond that, I don't think there is much of a point in pondering this. I deal in the material relations of everyday life and how they come to be. Anything not dealing in those material conditions is something that I just don't really see as too relevant to human lives.

I remember talking to an atheist, and I asked him what does he think about ghosts and spirits. He didn't have an answer. This atheist is so busy attacking other people's explanation for existence, and he never developed an explanation of his own. That seemed pretty ironic.

We also have to remember there was a time when we didn't exist, and was not "aware" of anything, when it comes to the great beyond we might not even be "aware" after we are dead and gone. I think it is a dynamic that is only concerned with transformation & evolution from one era to the next. Its a force that makes no apologies for what has happened in the past and what will occur in the future.
