the problem with the players in modern dunk contest is they dont have the same swag/it factor (whatever you want to call it).

they may be able to do the same dunks as the OGs but they dont look as good doing it.

Nique might’ve done 2-3 windmills per contest but he made each one LOOK like a unique power jam

Michael went for the free throw line 2-3 times per contest but the way he’d contort his body each time made it seem like he was grace personified


Kobe has personality and swag

Vince had supreme confidence and the bonafide “It” factor. His was the last contest where it felt like a star was born


Jrich and Desmond Mason had otherwordly hops. They were the last freaks of athletic nature


Dwight Howard had a fun and carefree angle and he was a star

Aaron Gordon and Lavigne were the last truly creative dunkers who had the body control and Ups to make the impossible look like poetry in motion
