somebody else made this mistake tooPEMDAS nikkas
6/2(1+2). We do the Parentheses first.
Simplifies to 6/2(3)
Then Multiplication.
Simplifies to 6/6.
Then Division.
Simplifies to 1.
Its 1.
you can't cross over like you tried to do with 6/2. that's one whole expression, you can't use 2 seperately from 6 unless you manipulate it someway.
so the () takes ultimate precedence so you solve whatever is within them (2+1)=(3). from there you go left to right and solve multiplication/division
division first 6/2
multiplication second 3(3)=9
That's the way people did it. Some just did multiplication first, which is wrong according to my understanding of the order of operations because you should move left to right. Please

When you get to the point where you can either divide or multiply the equation, you ALWAYS multiply it first! that's where PEMDAS comes into play. Yes multiplication and division hold the same weight in equations like this, but that's why PEDMAS tell you to MULTIPLY before you DIVIDE when you're in that situation.
Some of yall are some dumb motherfukkers b
PEMDAS isn't the problem, it's the understanding of what to do when you're faced with both multiplication and division and/or addition and subtraction in a problem. I was taught you move left to right, others claim they were taught to do multiplication first.nikkas never learned PEMDAS
