Only been posting here a short while but it’s a pleasure searching old threads about my favorite TV shows and movies and reading these discussions

Currently reading what Coli brehs thought of Penny Dreadful (the OG series, not City of Angels) and Doctor Sleep, and The Thing (1982) :banderas:

:salute: carry on
Feast for crows season of game of thrones, Homeland season 1 and 2. Read it. :wow:

Are you sure you felt the Film Room was better back when Prodigal Syndicate aka Dominic Brehetto was insulting your dead family? :skip:

The people that know...... know what was up with that dude and ultimately what was about to happen to him.

Like say what you want about me (and you have) but you do know dude was “really on the spectrum” and was an admitted suicidal depressed crackhead, who’s dad was a junkie, mom was a whore, his own girlfriend cheated on him with the dude he was living with and later he was homeless.

All his words and can be EASILY found in the archives of TLR:hubie:

Him getting that ban was mercy:ld:

@Dorian Breh check out The Alienist - it has that dark gothic period drama/thriller vibe

Description
The best-selling book by Caleb Carr is the basis for "The Alienist," a psychological thriller set amidst the vast wealth, extreme poverty and technological innovation of 1896 New York. A never-before-seen ritualistic killer is responsible for the gruesome murders and newly appointed police commissioner Theodore Roosevelt calls upon criminal psychologist Dr. Laszlo Kreizler, newspaper illustrator John Moore and police department secretary Sara Howard to conduct the investigation in secret. The brilliant, obsessive Kreizler is known as an alienist -- one who studies mental pathologies and the deviant behaviors of those who are alienated from themselves and society. His job, along with his controversial views, makes him a social pariah in some circles. But helped by a band of outsiders, Kreizler's tireless efforts eventually answer the question behind what makes a man into a murderer.

I had no idea that there was a US remake of Les Revenants (The Returned), loved the original french series, which didn't have much buzz over here (or at least I never heard anyone talk about it).

Did you see Marianne? Never tried it, I kind of remember hearing mixed things about it.
I heard the US version of The Returned is not as up to par as the original French version. I have yet to watch either but they’ve been on my list. So is Marianne- I heard that was worth watching. I’m getting ready to watch TO THE LAKE on Netflix and finish up season 1 of Alienist.
