I was going to say you were exaggerating, but then I watched it back myself.
Holy shyt, this is so much worse than I remember it being at the time. The layout makes no sense whatsoever, it's peak terrible Davey (even his kicks suck), Elgin is only better by dint of being the passenger rather than the driver, and 85% of the crowd is SO UNBELIEVABLY BORED at what they're watching. It's as if Davey and Elgin don't realize that wrestling without properly built stakes and some kind of investment (emotional, intellectual, etc.) is just really silly adult play fighting. I had to turn it off halfway through the match; I couldn't take it anymore.
What did I EVER see in Davey?

towards the beginning davey sells like a heel if that makes sense? there's no sense of any kind of face/heel dynamic which is bizarre because even in matches where both are face or both are heel there's still a face and heel and whoever ends up being each thing adjusts accordingly.
We should do one today for Bret Hart vs Stone Cold at Wrestlemania 13.
