The judge has the discretion to essentially decide the sentence if she feels the jury’s decision was too lenient. That’s part of her judicial authority. It is literally referred to as Judicial Discretion. The jury does not make the final decision.not only that, the hug maybe a bad look but the judge isn’t the one who handed out the sentence. but let’s let these cats celebrate

Not only that - the fact that a number of posters with no knowledge of the law or judicial administrative process were so quick to run with false information trying to say “the judge has no input in the sentencing” and failed to wait for the sentence before rushing in to convict the opinions of black analysts and not wait for the trial outcome to find out what the outcome would be for the convicted cac ..
Even had posters literally trying to exploit the mans death for their own purposes and distort ADOS positions in order to cause discord .
Lot of backtracking and pleas copped going on - when any other time if there was a black woman or man aligning with a white who killed a black victim ; those same posters would be quick to throw out the buck or bedwench label off perception .
