I've taken my harsh stance against fields down a bit learning what has been actually going on. Thought these guys were just simply calling the plays and fields was having issues reading the defense and holding the ball too long. Didn't know along with the play calls they were telling him all this other stuff sort of treating him like he a dummy or something and had him over thinking because clearly fields is a nice guy and very coachable and didn't want to appear insubordinate to the coaching staff. Hopefully they quit being control freaks and allow the kid to play his game.

I guess coaches got this weird ego thing about them were they have to call the plays they want to call no matter what, fukk if the scheme actually fits the team

It's no issue with calling plays
It is a issue when you calling plays, then trying to tell him what he should look out for, who might be coming from what side, who might be open etc because now you boy just allowing fields to play and execute. You got him thinking too much which might be why holding the ball too long is the outcome.
