Really hate that Lightfoot dragged on this. :francis: Nobody wants to go to Arlington Heights.

no one wants to go to soldier field either. I have no horse in the race, and I highly doubt I'd go to arlington heights for a game either.

but soldier field is really in a BAD location. driving there on a game day is a disaster, and taking public transportation via the L is gonna have u walking a good mile, which is brutal in the winter and is also ridiculous given that it's downtown. but it's on across lake shore drive, which means it's not easily accessible.

I get it. I go to the Museum Campus a ton. Not a lot of ppl like walking from Roosevelt, LSD is already shyt and the poor flow direction hurts it even more - without account for traffic itself. Buses and trains are isolated because of LSD, the tracks in front don't get much use, and it isn't pedestrian friendly, period. You're right in that one of that makes sense for a landmark spot that's still in the immediate downtown area.

I wish Lightfoot's plan didn't initially revolve around "it's the Lakefront, you aren't leaving" idea. Taking control of the tracks, capping them and LSD are a start. They should do it because it makes the most sense, not just for the Bears. There's a plan for that, but just a plan. Just too late. If she loses reelection, I hope the next mayor has the desire to keep the Bears here.

But yeah, not going out to AH personally. There's nothing there, and I'm not gonna hang around the stadium village for emptying my wallet on overpriced sports stuff. At least with the current location, I have better opportunities to experience other things. The suburbs are hell for me. I can't stand them. fukk AH as a spot, suburb, and a crew. :yeshrug:
