Ryan poles kinda screwed fields should've took a 4th or 5th round pick and kept it moving now fields won't be a starter

Justin Fields is the Zach LaVine of the NFL without the accolades

FA goes live in 1 hour ...
  • lots of smoke around the Bears making a big move on the DL, whether it be interior or DE - looks like they will chase down a big signing there
  • Bears continue to have their name attached to the top RBs on the market (Saquon & Jacobs) - didnt think Poles would ever use significant capspace at RB, so this is interesting. Must be a strong desire to give Caleb a top RB to lean on?
  • I expect the Bears to sign a WR on the secondary tier market - like a Curtis Samuel / Tyler Boyd type
need to address OL too, but I think Poles is going to add there big time in the draft. I think Ryan Bates is our starting center, but they draft a future starter in this draft

"Without the accolades"

Comprehension is fleeting
Damn the accolades you herb, Zach is better at basketball than Fields is at football.

In regards to FA,

When was the last time bears signed a top RB via free agency? Much more likely we lean on Herbert and draft another one in later rounds. Still have hope we can unload Fields for a second but we shall see what happens. The draft can't come soon enough!!

If Kirk goes to Atlanta, who’s the Vikings QB?
I really dont know what their plan is tbh --- if they let Kirk walk, they must be OK with taking a step back to rebuild. Doesnt help Justin Jefferson extension talks but they seem to be prepared for a slight rebuild. I think a guy like Fields would be appealing for their situation, but I would absolutely be sick to trade him within the division, Im sure Poles would too

its possible Minnesota could target a guy like JJ or Penix at pick #11 too and just sign a vet to go along with them

it seems like Kirk is going to go to ATL though and the Vikings dont want to shell out the $$ to keep him

I don’t see the appeal with McCarthy and why he’s rising up the draft boards. He wasn’t even relied on to throw the ball in college. They’re just looking at his record. As far as Penix, that could be interesting for them, but he also has injury history (like major injuries), plus he’s damn near the same age as Fields himself.

Im not big on JJ either, but hes certainly climbing draft boards right now and seems to be widely considered the 4th QB coming off the board

the thing with Fields, you have to pay him a sizeable deal after this season
