If this man becomes mayor, we'll look back on this and recall that many of you were warned about how bad of an idea it was
I think this is a classic example of anchoring bias. In one of the most progressive cities in the US, his resume just aint there, but because his policies and personality all were introduced and compared to Biden, Bloomberg, Gabbard, Buttigieg and Klobuchar, he is getting an automatic pass from NYCs that aren't heavy on policy. If I were in NYC, his policies and tone deafness would be a nonstarter

More than 400 API-Americans living in New York this week signed a letter against Yang’s candidacy and launched a website opposing him, saying representation “is simply not enough,” NextShark reports.

“The letter cites Yang’s Washington Post op-ed ‘urging’ Asian Americans to show their ‘American-ness’ amid the COVID-19 pandemic, his ‘anti-Black comments’ about applicants to his nonprofit Venture for America, and his recent absence in a progressive Muslim forum to appear in a conservative podcast,” according to NextShark. “The group also criticizes the candidate for his pro-policing stances, including his call for increased funding for the Asian Hate Crimes Task Force instead of community-based alternatives.”
It be your own people sometimes. :wow:

Eric Adams is leading the field of mayoral candidates in a new poll, marking the first time Andrew Yang is not the top contender since he shook up the race with his unexpected entry in mid-January.

Adams, the Brooklyn Borough president, was the first-place pick for 21 percent of the respondents in a three-day survey conducted by Washington, D.C.-based firm GQR, according to a copy of the survey obtained by POLITICO. Yang followed at 18 percent, and City Comptroller Scott Stringer had 15 percent support.
