Y’all think rappers should be required/enthusiastically encouraged to donate more of their money to the communities they got rich off of??

prob cause he knew he was going to die of AIDS, and that'd be the end of his chapter
Borrow a audiobook copy of Titan: The Life of John D. Rockefeller, Sr. By Ron-Chernow.
I read it when it came out and recently borrowed and returned it to my local library.

He got stressed out because he had too much money coming in and piling up, and millions of people and organization asking and begging him for money from around the world. Plus he had issues balancing his faith and beliefs with some of the real deal gangsta stuff he did while building his empire.

And aids wasn't invented yet during his lifetime. (U.S. Patent Number 5,637,488)

And if you have the time also check out Dr. Fleming. He incorporates the origin of aids in this interview. He caught a case a while back for medicare fraud but didn't go to prison and kept his medical license to practice in several states. Deep dude!

Na man. Break off the wrong person or group of people and yo ass might end up on the news when they come looking for the rest. You could be tryna do a free feature or a charity/community event just for the person you linked with to call the dogs on you. These days, you don't even really know who or what to give back to.

Well, I mean to start a specific business/service for the benefit of the community is big. If that's what the question is, then I would hope everyone that rake it in like that passes something productive or beneficial off to where they came from if it still means something to them. Just can't be wanting look out for any/everybody tryna do "better."

You got people that just want but don't bother with the earn part...and if you give some when they know you have more then they'll want more and more until they want to take. That's when they start plotting.

Idk. I just analyze behavioral patterns. If I went global I'm glad to say I could give back to the hood and most nikkas would be appreciative, but I'd still have to move different knowing how the circles structured it could be a friend of a friend plotting.

TLdr pretty much I feel like they should give back if they feel like it's worth it, but I don't think there should be a requirement Kuz you don't know how that person feels about where they came from (and vise versa) 5-20 years later

Did a LOT of behind the scenes stuff for they’re communities that they don’t publicize. Nas especially has been doing a bunch of shyt for Queensbridge including Toy giveaways, camps for kids, career advancement opportunities, college scholarships, etc.

Jay might be the most publicity seeking, boastful, “Me me me ME” rapper to ever live but he does a lot of lowkey stuff for Marcy.

Many rappers/entertainers don’t like publicizing what they do because they don’t want extra attention and don’t want people coming to them trying to leverage kindness for weakness. You have NO IDEA the extent to which nikkas will take $5 and ask for $10 if they know you got $20

We have verified stories of individuals from Jay and Nas’s hoods who GREW UP with them that tried to later extort them.

Imagine if the whole hood knew you was coming through with gifts and giveaways. Charity doesn’t always end well.
